Time Capsule Reveal – September 13, 2026
During her first few weeks exploring St. John’s, The Rev. Janet Huff-Worvie found a time capsule that was sealed up by the Sunday School students, likely in honor of St. John’s 150th anniversary celebration in 2001. As part of our 175th anniversary celebrations, we will be opening this time capsule to reveal what items our Sunday School students choose to include 25 years ago.
This past Sunday, Rev. Janet took a survey of what parishioners thought might be inside.
- 14 thought there would be photos inside
- 12 thought it might include a letter or letters
- 7 thought there might be a treasure map inside
- Others thought the time capsule might include toys, rocks, coins from the year the capsule was sealed, church service bulletins, beads, candy, a CD, Christmas decorations, Lincoln Logs, and Polly Pockets (popular at the time).
Join us Sunday, September 13, 2026 after the 10:00 am service to see what’s inside!
