What is arguably the most awe-inspiring, Spirit-filled week of the Christian year is upon us. Holy Week begins April 9 with the observance of Palm Sunday. I’ve stated during the announcements in recent Sundays that the liturgies of the Book of Common Prayer for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Great Vigil of Easter put forth The Episcopal Church at its best.
With a 13-year-old and a nearly 11-year-old involved with school, sports, and all that comes with being part of a family, Margaret and I know just how busy life is (Margaret bears the brunt of the busyness more than I do). With that preface, to the degree that you can, please make every effort to take part in each of the St. John’s liturgies during Holy Week.
I cannot predict how God will impact your life during Holy Week, but I do know that when we put ourselves in a position to receive God, God always delivers.
