Success! More than enough money has been raised to purchase a columbarium for St. John’s. Congratulations and thank you, to those whose vision, patience, persistence, and financial commitment are making this a reality.
Once the order documents arrive from Eickhof Columbaria, we will have a better idea of a timeline for this project to be completed. I am still hopeful we will have this done by the Feast of All Saints in November.
As I have had conversations across St. John’s about the columbarium project, I have learned that not everyone knows what a columbarium is. Simply put, it is a structure with niches that house a person’s cremains (ashes). Pictures of columbaria, as well as a video or two, can be found when you visit www.eickhofcolumbaria.com.
Now that the columbarium is in sight, the Vestry will continue to work on a rules and policies document. Once that is in place, we will communicate on how St. John’s members may obtain niches.
