Greetings St. Johns Family!
I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know that the momentum that has been building since Father Curt and his family arrived at St. Johns is contagious! Our much-beloved music ministry is growing with the recent addition of our children’s choir members.
Recently, Father Curt, Kevin Simons and I met in the nave, at St. Johns, to discuss how to make our beautiful sanctuary a more “user-friendly” space!
The nave at St. Johns is one of our biggest assets, yet we use it only one or two days a week.
Over the next few weeks, you may notice some slight variations to the pews. Our goal is to make the center aisle of the church, not only more accessible to our parishioners but to the “civilian” world around us. The changes are all going to be ADA compliant.
Our hope is to create a space at the front of the church to accommodate our beautiful Steinway grand piano, and even at times, our brilliant organ! This extra space will allow us to bring all elements of our music ministry together for special music services, think Lessons & Carols, AND make space for outside groups to utilize the beautiful architecture and acoustics that we have grown to love.
For us, the changes will be slight, but the possibilities endless!
